The June Sunset and Full Moon Climb at the Cape St. George Lighthouse on St. George Island will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy the view of St. George Island, the Gulf of Mexico and the Apalachicola Bay under the evening sky from the top of the lighthouse. The Franklin County Public Library’s Summer Reading Program continues with week three, June 23-29. Both library branches will have fun activities for both kids and adults during this program. The Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve in Eastpoint will host local “Turtle Talks” each Tuesday this summer. These weekly talks, which will run through August, help visitors learn all about our nesting sea turtles. The talks are free and registration is not required; however seating is limited. Visitors interested in learning about sea turtle nesting can visit the St. George Island Visitor’s Center (at the St. George Island Lighthouse Park) to pick up turtle information. Visit Website »
