This week continues our tribute to female performers during the month of May with some more fantastic female artists lined up…
So how here we go….
Wednesday, May 15 – It’s the Last Waltz as BS Open Mic runs from 5-9pm for it’s final time of the summer. As you may know, Bowery Station augments their hours and days of operation in the summer, (Wed – Friday 5pm-10pm, Sat Noon to 10pm, closed Sun-Tue) and therefore there are fewer opportunities to keep our talented musicians working, so we let the pros take over Wednesdays for the summer. So this Wednesday come on out for the Last Waltz and sing a few songs on the BS stage, all levels of talent are welcomed and appreciated! BS Open Mic will return in the fall when we once again extend our hours of operation! Performer tips from this final open mic of the summer will once again benefit the Elder Care Community Council.
Thursday, May 16 – Sticky Too joins us for a show from 6-9pm. Tim and Jay can play just about any genre, and can always feel out the crowd to play just the perfect set list. Either can take a lead with their refined guitar skills, and clearly offer some of the best harmonies around the region, so come on out and get sticky!
Friday, May 17 – Cat Braaten and Tom Mason join us for an evening show from 7-10pm. Cat, a proven Apalach favorite that can belt out the tunes with a mix of originals and covers, always gives a lights out performance, but once in a great while she brings along with her Nashville legend Tom Mason. Tom joins her with intricate guitar riffs, fantastic harmonies, some amazing originals of his own, and on occasion.. even a trombone!!
Saturday, May 18 – Ashley Feller returns to Bowery Station stage from 3-5:30pm. A regional favorite Ashley has a great set list of covers, but shares her well written originals as well. She brings a contagious smile to every one of her shows and we are excited to have her return to BS! Then, hold onto your hats as the Bo Spring Band rolls into town for one of their lights out shows from 6:30-10pm. Few bands put the energy into their shows that Spring and the gang offer, and couple that with some of the best talent the Gulf Coast has to offer and it is always a packed house, roof raisin’ evening of live music debauchery!
Sunday, May 19 – Chill out and relax on a Sunday afternoon of folk, oldtime, and americana. The day starts with local legend Chris Matechik bringing in his oldtime music with a smile and banjo in hand from 3-5pm. Chris weaves a little lore and laughter into his shows and is a perfect fit for a Sunday afternoon. Then, three of the most talented ladies around step on the stage in the form of The Adventures of Annabelle Lyn for a show from 5-8pm. Taking folk and americana to a new level through impeccable vocal harmonies, coupled with fiddle, guitar, mandolin, banjo and stand up bass… the Adventures captivate an audience for the duration of their performances.
Thanks again to all of you that continue to show such great support for the live music scene at Bowery Station, we couldn’t present such a talented array of performers without your support. Come pay tribute this month in particular as we continue to showcase many of the fantastic female performers that have graced our stage!
See you at the show!
