Bo Spring Band ruled on Saturday night like never before. It seems each time they play they can take it to a new level, and don’t forget they will be back on Saturday, July 28 for a show directly before our August break!
But there is plenty of great live music in store for the summer before then, let’s take a look at this week!
Wednesday, June 27 – Spotlight on the Mic from 5:30-6:15 features “Them Jacksons.” Them Jacksons is not your average rock band! Combining family time and rock n roll, Them Jacksons love to rock as a family. Taylor who is 12, sings and plays bass. Brody, who just turned 10 plays drums with more passion then most seasoned rockers. Dad, simply does his best to keep up on guitar. This will be a unique show of young talent for the Spotlight on the Mic. Then, Open Mic runs from 6-8ish and as always all levels of talent are welcomed and appreciated with tips for performers going to charity. This week, we had planned to continue our support of Janine Gedmin and the Apalachicola Riverkeeper, but Janine has asked we turn our attention to the victims of the Eastpoint fire, and that we will. So come on out for an evening of great talent while supporting members of our community.
Thursday, June 28 – Boooooooooooo! Boo Radley joins us from 6-9pm for what is the perfect fit for a Thursday night in Apalachicola as we continue to make Thursdays the New Fridays. Patty and Michael always create a music appreciation environment with their attention grabbing vocals and skillful guitar that takes us on a tour of well written originals, all of which weave a tale defining their own style. It’s been dubbed “New 850 Americana” as they lead the region in a sound that finds it’s roots in a variety of genres that this area of the country is known for.
Friday, June 29 – Cierra Skye joins us for an afternoon show from 4-6pm. This gifted female vocalist brings a soulful and jazzy feel to her shows and is a young talent that commands attention from the minute she steps on stage. Then, wrapping up their international tour with a final show at Bowery Station, we are pleased to welcome back Grammy Award winning Belle and the Band for a show from 7-10pm. The individuals in this ensemble are arguably some of the most gifted musicians in the South East, but combined they offer a heartfelt folk and Americana feel that is hard to experience anywhere else. As always, it is a rare occurrence that we can coordinate schedules to get these folks on stage, so do not miss this show!
Saturday, June 30 – Tyler James Arnold joins us from 3-5pm bringing an afternoon of his unique style of roots americana, wrapped up in a little swamp folk that is a style all his own. An extremely talented guitarist, Tyler has mastered the art of the perfect amount of well timed sampling to provide backing for his intricate solos. Tyler is one of the rare soloists that can fill the room with energy all by himself which will make for a great Saturday afternoon! Then, get ready for some Rockabilly as Pope Paul and the Illegals return all the way from California for a show from 6:30-9:30pm! This trio of talented gents anchored ApalachOktoberfest 2017 and had the crowd hoppin’ from start to finish. From high energy swing and honky tonk, to their signature style and original rockabilly feel, Paul, John and Sal always light up the stage with unparalleled enthusiasm.
Keepin’ the summer hot with great live music… and thanks again to all of you that support our efforts to bring a variety of top level talent to our humble venue!
