Wednesday, June 20 – Spotlight on the Mic this week will feature Pete Waddell and will start off the day from 5:30-6:15. This new feature allows for developing artists to play a few more songs than at Open Mic, get a little more warmed up, and expand their repertoire. Pete has been joining us at Open Mic with his nylon string guitar, singing oldies and classics such as Louis Armstrong, so it should be a good Spotlight. Then, BS Open Mics rolls from 6-8ish. As always, tips for performers go to benefit a charity, and again this week and for the month of June, we are generating support for the Apalachicola Riverkeeper, by way of our friend Janine Gedmin who is seeking sponsorship for her 107 mile Rivertrek kayak trip in October!! Janine is committed to the trek, and BS is committed to her. So come on out and support her efforts … and the Apalachicola Riverkeeper!
Thursday, June 21 – Debut Alert! Payton Smith joins us for a show from 6-9pm. Payton Smith first unlocked the gateway of Nashville’s, “Music Row”, in 2014 at the tender age of 14, when he impressed renowned producer, Buddy Cannon(Kenny Chesney/Willie Nelson), with his guitar playing, vocal, and songwriting talent. During the last four years he has gained attention from music executives, publishers, and creative minds that have acknowledged his vision of becoming a force in country music. He was also recently invited to participate in the upcoming 2018 CMA music festival in Nashville which is earning buzz and excitement from fans. This festival attracts over 250,000 country music followers annually and is the perfect venue to kick off summer. This will be a DO NOT MISS show from this young upcoming talent that continues our trend of making Thursdays the New Fridays!
Friday, June 22 – Another Debut Alert! Colby Schieb joins us for an afternoon show from 4-6pm. Colby lays down a funky soulful vibe during his shows, mixed in with a little reggae which will make for a fun Friday afternoon. Then, it is our distinct pleasure to welcome back singer/songwriters Charlie and Dana Black for a show from 7-10pm. Composers of a multitude of #1 hits for the likes of George Straight, Alan Jackson, Reba Mcentire, and Anne Murray, Charlie and Dana are professional performers that always put on a dynamic show that commands attention with their well written originals. It has been a while since we have been able to coordinate schedules with this talented duo, and we are blessed to have them join us for a Friday evening on the BS stage in Apalach.
Saturday, June 23 – Slim Fatz brings his unique style of blues to the BS stage for an afternoon show from 3-5pm. Slim lays down the licks on his guitar as only he can do, accompanied by his vocals that make one reflect on the earliest days of the blues. Then, just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, The Bo Spring Band hits the stage from 6:30-9:30pm. Few put on a show with the intensity and talent level of the quartet, and while their covers can get the crowd dancing, their originals are clearly the tunes that draw in the crowds. It is sure to be a barn burner this Saturday night, as Bo and the gang fill the room with a variety of genres and energy!
Again, thank you to all of you that continue to support live music at Bowery Station. We are thankful to have the opportunity to bring you the best in talented performers, and we couldn’t do it without your continued support.
See you at the show!
