Business and travel information for Apalachicola, St. George Island and Eastpoint Florida
Greetings live music lovers! The town is still abuzz after last Thursday’s showing of Brody Buster, the award winning solo performer, that lit up the town. We appreciate so many of you that follow our emails and Facebook posts informing you of both new acts, and popular mainstays and for all of you that help spread that word, and show your appreciation as you did last Thursday night! That effort, and support was noticed by Brody and he can’t wait to return to Apalachicola and Bowery Station.
Let’s check out this week’s line up….
Wednesday, Dec 6 – BS Open Mic hosted by Matt Gardi rolls from 6-8ish. This weekly event has been a mainstay in local entertainment for years, and has fostered the development of numerous performers as they gain their confidence and stage presence. All levels of talent are welcomed and appreciated. As always, tips for performers from BS Open Mic go to charity, during the month of December we will be supporting the Apalachicola Volunteer Fire Department.
Thursday, Dec 7 – Welcome back the Highbeams from 6-9pm as we strive to make Thursdays the New Fridays. These three brothers with true passion for music play their own brand of emotive, high-energy Folk Rock and do a three part harmony with percussion and solid guitar riffs through a set list that almost everyone in the room finds themselves singing along to. They bring with their energy a clear joy of hitting the stage that permeates the crowd. There recent performance on stage at the Waterfront festival before the Krickets showed they clearly are in the same category with other high level performers!
Friday, Dec 8 – Belle and the Band are back from 7-10pm. Suncoast Emmy® wining Belle and The Band combines masterful song-writing with instrumental prowess to deliver an acoustic sound that is thought provoking, melodic, and memorable. While Kathryn Belle Long’s many years experience as a professional vocalist and Walt Disney World performer has seamlessly transferred into prolific song-writer, the “Band” also includes some of Florida’s most recognized and accomplished acoustic musicians — Mickey Abraham, Kevin Robertson, and Mike Snelling. The results are meaningful songs with layered arrangements. Woven into their songs’ worldly themes and eclectic sounds exists a clean pop sensibility, which explains why listeners easily fall in love with Belle and The Band.
Saturday, Dec 9 – Johnny Barbato is out on the town for an evening of BS fun from 6:30-9:30pm. From slide, to americana, Johnny always takes the crowd on a trip down story teller lane…Bowery Station is always blessed to have this Floribama cornerstone join us….so someone say…”Aww Sh**!”
Sunday, Dec 10 – Dothan’s Dave Dale returns to Bowery Station from 4-8pm for an evening of Rock and Country. One heck of a nice guy, and one great musician, Dave loves to entertain and always makes for a great afternoon.
Now that’s a fun week of music in Apalachicola, thank you to all of you for your support of our venue, and our musicians. None of this would be possible without you!
