Live music continues at the Apalachicola Margaret Key Public Library at 80 12th Street, Friday, July 21, from 6:30 – 8:30 with local favorite singer-songwriter, Cat Braaten.
Cat grew up around music, with her father playing harmonica and saw and her mother playing classical piano. She taught herself guitar at 15 and took a liking to Bob Dylan, who greatly influenced her sound. She began a successful music career in Chicago and in the 1990s she was both writing, recording and playing throughout the country.
While on tour in the Virgin Islands, she met her husband. Together they wrote music, hosted musicians at their beach bar on St. John and established the St. John Songwriters Festival.
Cat currently lives on St. George Island where she continues to write music and play throughout the Forgotten Coast.
Sponsored by PALS, the Friends of the Library, with the support of the Porchfest 2022 Committee.
