Apalachicola Bay Chamber of Commerce
Business and travel information for Apalachicola, St. George Island and Eastpoint Florida
Celebrated environmental author Susan Cerulean will speak at the Apalachicola Margaret Key Public Library Thursday, November 10 at 6pm EST. Cerulean has written three award-winning books, weaving her work in wildlife conservation with personal stories and life events. In her latest release I Have Been Assigned the Single Bird: A Daughter’s Memoir Cerulean finds parallels in caring for her ailing father, and volunteering as a shorebird steward in Apalachicola Bay.
Cerulean’s degrees in Biology and Horticulture and her continued volunteering with the St. Vincent National Wildlife Refuge inform her work, and her understanding of the environmental concerns facing the Bay. Cerulean currently splits time between Tallahassee and Indian Pass. Her visit to the Apalachicola library marks this year’s first feature of the Susan Buzzett Clementson Author Series. The Author Series brings authors into the library to present on their work. Cerulean’s latest book will be available for sale and signing by the author, along with a question-and-answer session. Light refreshments will be served, courtesy of the Patrons of the Apalachicola Library Society, PALS. More information about PALS and library events can be found at apalachicolalibrary.com.
