The Susan Buzzet Clementson Author Series

April 8, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Marie Bostwick, a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of contemporary and historical fiction, is the guest author for a presentation, reception, and book signing at the Apalachicola Margaret Key Public Library as the final event of the Susan Buzzett Clementson Author Series this spring.

The event will be held on Friday, April 8, at 6 p.m. and is hosted by the library’s friends group, P.A.L.S., and is supported by Downtown Books and Purl. Copies of Bostwick’s just-released novel, The Restoration of Celia Fairchild, published by William Morrow, will be available for sale. Admission is free.

Chosen as Country Living magazine’s “Front Porch Read” for March, and included in Parade magazine’s list of 25 “Favorite Books of Spring,” Bostwick’s most recent novel draws upon her lifelong love of needlework and supportive female friendships to tell the story of an advice columnist who has insight into everyone’s problems but her own. Set principally in Charleston, South Carolina, The Restoration of Celia Fairchild is a novel about taking risks, turning neighbors into friends, and the redemptive power of creativity.

Marie Bostwick is the author of eighteen previous works of fiction, many of them national bestsellers and recipients of book awards. She is perhaps best known for her Cobbled Court Quilt Series which has gained a dedicated following among quilters as well as general readers. A film adaptation of her book The Second Sister, called “Christmas Everlasting,” debuted as a Hallmark Hall of Fame feature in 2018, starring Patti LaBelle.

Following her visit to Apalachicola, Bostwick will appear the next day at Tallahassee’s prestigious Word of the South literature and music festival.  Since 2015, this unique festival has showcased nationally-recognized writers and musicians who appear together to explore themes of creativity across the two disciplines. Marie will share the stage with north Florida musician Del Suggs and author Karen White.
