Apalachicola Bay Chamber of Commerce
Business and travel information for Apalachicola, St. George Island and Eastpoint Florida
Join us for a day-long (8:00am-4:00pm) birding event on the Forgotten Coast for birders of all levels from advanced to beginners. Professionally lead tours will focus on shorebirds, migratory birds, and/or woodland species. See colorful song birds on St George Island on their migratory stop over, view shorebirds in the shallow waters around St. George Island State Park, visit the pine woodlands where the Red-Cockaded Woodpeckers thrive, or learn the basic of birding with Audubon staffers at the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve (ANERR).
After a morning in the field, participants will return to the ANERR Nature Center for lunch and an informative talk on how to photograph birds. The afternoon will feature educational booths at the Nature Center. For more information and to register call 850-670-7700 or email Anita.Grove@dep.state.fl.us.
